Overview

With the implementation of the new NCISM outcome-based syllabus for MD/MS Ayurveda, Research Methodology and Medical Statistics have emerged as core foundational subjects from the very first semester. However, for most newly admitted postgraduate students, these subjects are new, unfamiliar, and often overwhelming, leading to confusion about what to study, how to study, and how to prepare effectively.

This Introduction Webinar is specially designed to orient MD/MS Semester I students to the new syllabus, its structure, objectives, and expectations, and to provide clear academic direction right at the beginning of the course.

The webinar will focus on:

  • Why Research Methodology and Medical Statistics are introduced early in the MD/MS program

  • A simplified overview of the new NCISM syllabus – modules, learning outcomes, and assessment pattern

  • What level of understanding is expected from a postgraduate student (not UG-level learning)

  • How to approach these subjects step-by-step, even without a strong prior background

  • How these subjects connect directly to:

    • Synopsis preparation

    • Dissertation work

    • Clinical research

    • Journal publications

    • University examinations and viva voce

Special attention will be given to:

  • Common fears and misconceptions students have about statistics and research

  • Practical guidance on how to study, not just what to study

  • Recommended study strategy, resources, and timelines for Semester I

  • Understanding the interlinking of Research Methodology and Biostatistics instead of studying them in isolation

This session is not a technical lecture, but a concept-setting and confidence-building orientation, aimed at helping students start correctly, avoid confusion later, and develop a research-oriented mindset aligned with the new curriculum.

🎯 Who should attend?

  • Newly admitted MD/MS Ayurveda Semester I students (all specialties)

  • Students feeling unclear or anxious about the new syllabus

🎓 By the end of the webinar, students will:

  • Clearly understand the purpose and scope of these subjects

  • Know how to prepare systematically from Day 1

  • Feel confident and academically oriented towards postgraduate-level research

📌 An essential foundation webinar for every MD/MS Ayurveda student beginning their postgraduate journey under the new NCISM syllabus.
